The Rotary Club of Bradford Blaize once again organised a Charity Golf Competition at Ilkley Golf Club. As in previous years the format was Teams of four players and the entry fee was again very attractively and competitively priced at £295 for a team of 4.
The competition was played in the Stableford format off a full valid club handicap adjusted for Slope. The two best scores per hole counted on the first nine holes, the three best scores on the next six holes and all four scores on the last three holes.
The entry fee covered the green fee, a running buffet and a free bar at the 12th tee as well as attractive prizes for the best 3 teams, Nearest the Pin and Straightest Drive. Just short of £4,000 profit was raised on the day for local charities.
The tournament winners were the Meridth Marvels with a score of 107. Second and third place teams both scored 104 points and had to be separated on a count back of the last 9 holes leaving Adam and Co. in second place and Schofield Sweeney in third. Nearest the pin was Danny Littlewood from the VLT Logistics team whilst Andy Langton of LCF Law took the prize for longest straightest drive.
Thanks must go to those entering teams (some of whom have been supporting the event since it started). In particular thanks go to Ilkley Golf Club for their generosity in allowing us to hold the event on their wonderful course. Also our sponsors who this year were:
