Following on from an appeal for help the club recently made a donation to this charity. They are solely focused on supporting children, young people and families who are victims of serious crime. They help them cope with what has happened, support their recovery and provide services that enable them to put events behind them, move on and fulfil their life’s potential.
Diane told us how the charity was founded following the death of 2 children in the Warrington bombings of 1993. all referrals to the charity must be made through a recognised agency such as the local police force. Children are helped in several ways dependant on their needs. Some receive practical help in the way of clothing, music lessons and gym membership. For others suffering from financial hardship the family are given help in buying essentials, educational supplies, and entertainment. Still others are more in need of counselling which is provided by specialists. Finally, there is a package of treats to visit theme parks and pantomimes to help build confidence. Details of all of this can be seen from the slide show above.
For further details of the charity please see their web page:- https://embracecvoc.org.uk/.
