Plans for the year:

John Waterhouse (Chair), Ken Senior (Environment), John Watson, Robert Allan (second others if, and when needed)

In 2025-26 we intend to run with the following projects: -

1. Dictionary4Life distributions to six Inner Bradford Primary Schools (some 270 books) each with a Blaize label and including the child’s name, courtesy of Barrie. The cost of the Dictionaries is being met by a local Charitable Trust on which Blaize members serve.

2. Once again, we will support RYLA in July 2025. We regard it as excellent value for money in the development of young people.

3. We are sending two young Sea Scouts from Keighley and Bradford to the Ocean Youth Trust project, crewing a sailing ship from North Shields for a week in August. A District Grant will meet some of the cost. A grant from a local Trust will meet the rest.

4. We will continue to support Life Education Bradford which provides anti-drugs, healthy lifestyle and relationship education in Bradford Primary schools.

5. Continuation of support for the Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank through collections and / or donations.

6. Kids Out in 2025 will not happen but we hope it will resume in 2026 when we intend to run it with the children from the Bowling Park Primary School on a 50/50 basis – from a deprived Inner Bradford Area. The children in the past had a fabulous day out and the school greatly value the experience, paying the cost of the buses.

7. We will seek to support Marie Curie in Bradford including through their Great Daffodil Appeal.

8. Through the Environment Officer, the planting of about 250 to 500 more trees in the Bradford Metropolitan Area.
