Fund Raising

This committee works with the other committees to help them raise funds for their individual projects to support charities locally, nationally and internationally.

Plans for the year:

Robert Allan (Chair), M. Atif and Roger Bowers

1.    Charity Golf Match
Our annual golf tournament is going ahead again at Ilkley Golf Club and is scheduled for Wednesday, 17th June 2026.

2.    Games Evening
It is hoped this will be arranged again.  It is mainly a social evening but it is hoped to use the event to perhaps raise funds for charitable purposes.  We will seek support from other Rotarians and friends, in addition to Blaize Members, to maximise income.

3.    Old Household Items
Consideration will be given again to the sale of old/unwanted household items may be via eBay.

4.    Collections on Behalf of Other Charities
We will no doubt be available to carry out collections for charitable bodies such as Marie Curie, if asked.

5.    Walk
Planning is being given to a sponsored walk by Blaize Rotarians and friends during this Rotary year to raise money for charitable purposes.

6.    Other Projects
The Committee welcomes ideas from other Club members which could be then considered/implemented/organised, as appropriate, to raise further much needed charitable funds.  A suggestion has been made that several members undertake a sponsored slim to improve their health and raise charitable funds.

Sponsored Walk in Aid of Marie Curie Hospice and Other Charities

more R. Allan organised a long distance sponsored walk around the Cleveland Way. The main thrust of the walk was to raise money for Marie Curie Bradford Hospice but they raised more money than expected so some will go to other causes.
