James Barker High Sheriff of West Yorkshire in 2004-2005
Bradford Blaize were very fortunate to have James Barker (who was High Sheriff of West Yorkshire in 2004-2005 and is currently a Deputy Lord Lieutenant of the County) talk to the club on the Shrievalty. Not only did James give a very entertaining talk whilst dressed in the robes of office but also he and Roger Bowers (the High Sheriff in Nomination for 2008-2009) combined their skills to capture a dangerous criminal whilst in the commission of a crime (see photograph). Alan Arthur that well-known butcher of the Queens English was actually apprehended in the act of mispronouncing the name our guest speaker.
