Leicester Cathedral Volunteer/Guide
As a Cathedral guide, Kevin's main role is to deliver guided tours to groups and individuals who visit the Cathedral. This covers many different historical topics relating to the Cathedral and its surrounding area.
Using the knowledge and experience gained over the past ten years, He has been involved in the writing of several tours and talks on a variety of topics. He represent the Cathedral at Heritage fairs and other events. I helps train Cathedral volunteers who wish to become guides.
As a retired teacher, he is nvolved in many school visits and also played a part in a joint Cathedral-school project, giving students an experience of life at the Cathedral.
King Richard III – Reinterring a King with Dignity and Honour.
Once King Richard had been identified, it was paramount that he be given a new resting place that offered him the dignity and honour he deserved.
This talk will take the audience through the process of reinterment, including the many items connected with the event.
Telling this key part of Richard’s story, it will offer newcomers to the tale a chance to understand what took place as well as giving others a few snippets of previously untold stories.
