19 intrepid De Montfort Rotarians visited the wilds of the Peak District staying for 3 nights at the MERMAID INN. Great fellowship, coupled with good food interspersed with some tough rambles around the area were had by all.....

The postal system to the Western Front did not exist before the declaration of war Peter Cousins story tells of the huge logistical exercise to put a system in place and to get letters and parcels to the “Tommies” - much needed for the morale.

The walk was organised by Theresa Phillips. 16 people attended and met at the Magazine Gateway at 6pm. The table at Wyggston’s House Restaurant was booked from 7:15 to 8:45 pm....but the serving of the pre-ordered food proved to be rather tardy....
