Can you spot the winning duck ?
Inside the builder’s bag are 1,000 plastic ducks. Each is numbered.
On Sunday, September 7, during the Friends of Knighton Park’s annual show, the bag was emptied into the brook for the start of the second annual Rotary charities duck race.
The first duck to cross the finish line about 11 minutes later (no. 31) won for the owner £75. For 2nd (No.122) the owner receives £50 and the third (No.5353) £25. Thanks to generous individuals and companies, there wiere also lots of donated prizes, as well
To be in with a chance of winning puntersr were asked to purchase a ‘raffle’ ticket costing £2.
The race was organised by two Rotary clubs (Bradgate and Leicester De Montfort)
The charities which will benefit from the publics support include Vista, which helps thousands of blind and partially-sighted people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, Baby Basics Leicester with 10 per cent of the proceeds going to the Friends of Knighton Park.
