Our £10k Giveaway - Local Community Support Grants

On Monday 21st July 2025, the Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill gave away £10,354 to local charities based in Hockley, Rayleigh and Hullbridge, which are the areas where the Rotary Club raises its funds.

Following much publicity surrounding the Club’s ‘Local Community Support Grants’ initiative, many charities applied for a grant.

25 were chosen, ranging from ‘Young Carers’ and ‘Memory Lane Cafe’ to the ‘Todman Centre Age Concern’ and ‘Home Start’ (which supports families struggling with bereavement, isolation and post natal depression).
Ian Reading, retiring President of the Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill said: "It’s an honour to be able to plough the funds we raise back into the areas from which they came. Local residents need help from the local community more than ever before."
