Sunday 9th June saw the return of Rayleigh’s popular Trinity Fair. A Trinity Fair has been held in Rayleigh since 1227 when a Royal Charter allowed the villagers of Rayleigh to hold a fair on the eighth Sunday after Easter. The fair was mainly for trading livestock and farming equipment, but the following day was set aside for making merry.
