IYC Community Youth Hub

President Margaret Hawksworth and Rotarian Ruth Andre Evans from Ashby Castle Rotary Club visited the IYC Community Youth Hub in Market Street to present them with a £250 donation towards a food heater and other vital resources. 

Both Margaret and Ruth visited the Youth  Hub on their open day and spoke to both young people and Emma the Organiser. They were impressed by Emma's work and recognised a much-needed facility in the town. The venue holds sessions for home-schooled children and runs an afterschool youth club, which provides a safe, inclusive space for 11 to 18-year-olds where they can build their confidence, connect and develop essential skills. The community cafe is also open during the day for people to call in and buy local crafts. Rooms are also used by local mums groups, Knit and Natter and community networking groups.
