Rotary & Sailability

Sailability is a local charity based at Staunton Harold Sailing Club, which we feel is an excellent charity to support. We have done this through our Santa Fun Run donations and general Club Charities fund. Amongst other things, we have sponsored the purchase of a container for their equipment. So, why do we think it is important?

Sailing and waterborber activities are provided for disabled children and adults throughout Leicestershire and Derbyshire. People of all ages can develop a new love of water or rekindle their love of sailing. The whole family is encouraged to be involved. The group is mainly involved in sailing and on-shore activities, but the powerboat play is vital in allowing a great sensory experience for those who cannot or cannot sail.

Club members attended a very wet Open Day, but that did not reduce the fun. It involved rowing, sailing in torrential rain and an exhilarating ride in the powerboats.
