Foundation Report - 2024-25
We intend to continue supporting the Rotary Foundation's donations through giving to the Eradicating Polio fund and the Annual Giving Fund, which fulfils our club’s obligations.
As the smallest team in the club, we intend to support other teams in their efforts this coming year. We will work closely with the International team, especially in maintaining contact with the charity Care for Uganda, which operates Motor Bike Ambulances, two of which we bought.
In the last year in Mbale, Uganda, many drivers have had to pull over on the roadside to facilitate a birth. One driver has had four deliveries, and all babies did well. Many babies are born at night, which further adds to a challenging situation. The MBAs made almost 800 journeys last year.
We intend to support a water project in the next year and are also investigating whether the local schools would support a Peace Pole on their estate.
As part of the mantra ‘Let’s Have Fun in Rotary,’ we are planning a bus trip, with some of us using our Senior Citizens’ Bus Passes for a free day out. We are also planning to bring back our Friday Night Zoom meetings.
We are looking forward to an active year in which we will all work together, support Rotary, and have fun.
