Community Service
Details of our work with the Community
The Aims and Objectives of the Community Service Team for the Rotary Club of Ashby de la Zouch Castle are as follows:
1. To support and serve the Ashby de la Zouch community and the surrounding area through planned or spontaneous events in many ways.
2. To support and participate in as many club events, projects, and initiatives as possible.
3. To support and work with the two other Rotary Clubs in Ashby, other Rotary Clubs in District 1070 and beyond, and other statutory bodies and organisations.
4. To support District 1070 and District Governor Chris Knight as much as possible during his year.
5. To make it a successful and enjoyable Rotary year for our President and the club.
6. To have fun and enjoy fellowship with other Rotarians, whether they be members of our club or other clubs.
7. To promote Rotary and its excellent work locally, nationally, and internationally.
8. To uphold the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self".
We will look to engage with the following charities supported by District 1070:
1. Heartwize
2. Coats 4 Kids
3. The Disability Games
4. Kids Out Toy Box Appeal
5. Rainbows
We will organise and/or look to get involved in the following fundraising events:
1. Zamani's Summer Social
2. Race Night at Lingdale Golf Club
3. "Freeze Your Bits Off" charity walk
4. Rainbows fundraiser (actual event TBC)
