This year's Sportsman's Dinner is taking place on Friday 28th February (7pm for 7:30 pm) at the Fullarton Community Hub, Irvine.
The main speakers will be Murdo Maclord and Jimmy Nicholl.
Murdo MacLeod is a Scottish former professional football player and manager. Murdo, who played as a midfielder, made 20 appearances for Scotland and played in the 1990 World Cup Finals. He had a successful club career, mainly with Dumbarton, Celtic, Borussia Dortmund and Hibernian
Jimmy Nicholl is a former Northern Ireland international footballer who played for several clubs, including Manchester United and Rangers. He was mainly a right-back but could also play in other defensive roles. Nicholl won a total of 73 international caps for Northern Ireland, scoring one goal. He also held managerial positions with both Rangers and Cowdenbeith.
The two main recipients of this year’s event will be the Crosshouse Children’s Fund (Ayrshire Babies Appeal) and the Alzheimer Scotland Unit within Ayrshire Central Hospital.
