Members of Hinckley Ambion Rotary welcomed visitors from three local charities at a recent meeting.
First Responders, Lawrence House and Leicestershire Women’s Aid have all benefitted from grants of £1,000 each from Ambion Rotary supported by the Rotary foundation.
First Responders bought an up to date defibrillator which can be used on children and adults, and Lawrence House were able to update two of their bedrooms at their Hinckley base for homeless young people. Women’s Aid has been able to buy new beds, bedding and mattresses for their Hinckley refuge.
The representatives from the charities gave the club an update on their work especially their added workload during lockdown. Alex Twist from First Responders was able to tell the club that the donated defibrillator had been used in Hinckley that afternoon to save a life.
Hinckley Ambion has supported these charities for a number of years and is already planning how to continue to help next year.
