Rotary Spring Fair April 2024

The Rotary Spring Fair raised circa £4,000 for the Rotary Cut Out Cancer campaign in support of the Royal Surrey County Hospital.
Our thanks to everyone who helped organise and run the event and to everyone who turned up and supported the event.

Graham Sopp (Godalming Woolsack Club President Elect) arrived at 7:30 am on the Burys field in Godalming to open the gates and allow the fun fair and the team from Music Works to set up.  Graham was closely followed by Andy Jeffrey and subsequently over 40 members and friends from Rotary clubs in both Godalming and Guildford who all helped to ensure that the circa 40 stall holders found their allocated space and were ready to go when we opened at 11am.

We had no idea how popular the event was going to be but by midday we knew all would be well - helped by the weather with the sun shining throughout most of the day.  We estimate that over 1,500 members of the Godalming and local villages community supported the event and a big thank you to all of you for turning out and supporting the stall holders and our charities.

The main attraction this year was a traditional fair games arena which the children (and many parents) enjoyed.

Our thanks go to Seymours who were our main sponsor and also to Godalming Town Council and Waverley Borough Council.

Finally, a special thank you to Phil Kemp (phil.kemp@btinternet.com) for donating his time to take such great photos of the event.
