A proclamation ceremony took place on Sunday 11thSeptember to formally announce the beginning of the reign of HM King Charles III following the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
The ceremony took place in Harpur Square,Bedford, the proceedings commenced at 12.30pm in line with similar proclamations taking place across the Country.The official proclamation was read out at 1:00pm by High Sheriff of Bedfordshire Lady Jane Clifford, accompanied by HM Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire Susan Lousada. The High Sherrif invited the official guests and the general public to proclaim 'God save the King'.
