The Ripon Rowel Walk is a 50 mile circular walk which takes in the stunning Yorkshire countryside along with a number of lovely towns and villages surrounding Ripon (as well as Ripon itself of course!).

While completing the entire route in one go may be a bit much for most, the route can be split into more managable sections and covered over a number of trips.
A booklet, devised by Les Taylor, describes the various sections of the walk along with 12 circular walks of varying lengths, covering different parts of the circuit.
In 2012 The Rotary Club of Ripon Rowels agreed in conjunction with the NYCC to maintain this walk and to reprint and update this booklet. The profits made from selling the book are used to maintain and improve the walk.
Cloth badges for the walk are also available for a small donation or can be earned by those who show an extra special effort on the walk! (and let the Rotary Club know).
The badges are now available behind the bar of the Water Rat pub in Ripon. It's also a great place to rest and get refreshments after your walk!
