On Sunday 3 February, swimmers young and not so young gathered at Truro School swimming pool (by kind permission of the Head and Governors of the School) to swim as far as they might, to raise money for the End Polio Now campaign and local Rotary charities. Swimming Teachers Association distance awards were also available, as well as a certificate for each participant. The event was a joint venture between the Rotary Clubs of Truro and Truro Boscawen, who provided general helpers and stewards. The Rotary Clubs are indebted to the Len Hatcher Swim School for the professional organisation of the event and providing qualified lifeguards. Thanks are also due to Paul Sweaton of Vision Independent Financial Planning for his sponsorship and help.
