On Sunday 25th September the Rotary Club of Northampton Becket (“Rotary Becket”) invited the community to join them, Paul’s family and friends, in a walk in memory of Paul's life around Pitsford reservoir (approx 7 miles). A shorter walk of approximately 1.25 miles along the Skylark Trail was also available to those who did not want to do the full walk.
Paul (a member of Rotary Becket) was tragically killed while on a solo walk along the Offa’s Dyke Trail in September 2020 raising money for Rotary Becket’s own registered Charity which was raising funds for the local community including Northamptonshire Food Banks. Subsequently the fund provided over £20,000 of support.
Following the lifting of COVID restrictions, Rotary Becket decided to organise this walking event in Paul's memory for those who knew and loved him. Over 100 people turned up and 80 walkers (some with their dogs dogs!) actually took part
As we all knew that Paul would not have wished the event to take place unless we had also raised funds for the Rotary Becket Charity in support of local community projects we invited supporters to make a donation. So far over £2,000 has been generously donated by card payment and cash on the day and via our Total Giving Page which is still open for further contributions visit
