Seven podded and socially distanced Rotary teams met at time spaced intervals to discover the clues, cleverly set by Ivor Butchart on a treasure hunt up the High Street in Dunblane. The weather was warm and the rain stayed at bay allowing everyone to find most of the clues and have a great time.
After the hunt everyone made their way to the Westlands for a lovely meal on the lawn where we were well spaced out and had good service at our tables. We were also able to see the post lockdown changes that Eve and Jody have carried out, with an outside bar area in the car park, a covered area at the side of the hotel and a new layout to the dining room maintaining social distances.
The treasure hunt served two purposes, to provide some fun for Rotarians after the period of lockdown and secondly if it went well- which it did then an opportunity to offer the hunt to other groups and families who might like to have a few hours fun. This would be provided by the Club on a donation basis to help the Club raise funds for charitable causes usually supported by the Duck Race and Dunblane Show and Bridge of Allan Games which have been cancelled this year.
Thanks to Ivor for a great evening.
At the Zoom meeting on Thursday 13 August Ivor announced that the treasure hunt had been closely contested with all marks within 2.5 marks of each other until the final team out - Russell and Fiona Wheater with Graham Russell came home with a 7 mark advantage to win. Well done team Wheater (President Elect strikes!)
Mini bottles of Cava will be delivered to the winners!
