HURRICANE RELIEF COLLECTION
People have been deeply moved by the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma. Families in the affected areas have lost everything – their homes and possessions – and have nowhere to sleep at night. In response to the desperate needs of those caught up in this natural disaster, the Club, with wonderful support form the Queen Victoria School Interactors (junior Rotarians), took a collection at Tesco Dunblane on Saturday and Sunday past. Given wonderful support from Tesco shoppers, the sum of £1,293 was raised. The proceeds will be used to provide ShelterBoxes for those in need. These boxes include tents, tarpaulins, building tools, blankets, water filters, solar lights and cooking equipment, all designed to provide for the immediate needs of those affected. ShelterBox has a strong network of contacts, partners and Rotary Club connections in the affected areas who can make sure that the aid is delivered to those most in need of help.
