The annual awards to celebrate the efforts of pupils at Queen Victoria School in volunteering and fundraising took place at a special ceremony at the school.

The Queen Victoria School annual Volunteering Awards Ceremony took place on Thursday 25 June with many of the charities who had been involved coming along to celebrate the achievements of the pupils. A total of 18 good causes were supported during the year and thousands of pounds was raised.

The pupils’ efforts were praised by Jill Adams, 6th Year co-ordinator at QVS who said the ideas all came from the pupils and they gave total commitment to the chosen beneficiaries.
A total of 12 pupils received the Silver Award for 100 hours volunteering from Mandy Boyce, Volunteer Support Worker with Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise Ltd. and 16 pupils received the Gold Award for 200 hours.

The Rotary Award for Community Volunteers of the Year went to Navino Gurung and Bishnu Dura, seen below with Past President Iain Smith, for their work in fundraising for the relief efforts following the earthquake in Nepal.
