The sound of the Dunblane Cathedral bells just before noon started off the traditional High Street Parade. Led by the Alloa Bowmar Pipe Band with Master Jack and some magnificent classic cars, the procession made its way down to the Drying Green where MC Gerard Hastings welcomed huge crowds to a full afternoon of fun and entertainment, helped by a fantastic day of blue sky and sunshine.
The Rotary Duck Race at 1pm was the biggest yet, with almost 5,000 ducks launched into the Allan Water at the Faery Bridge at 1pm, with the help of the Queen Victoria School Interact Club.
A brave group of volunteers pulled out the winning ducks and then had the mammoth task of retrieving the ducks. A few escaped and were being hunted down later!
The Rotary Crepe stall was busy all afternoon and eventually sold out and the Bouncy Castle did a roaring trade.
Some of the lucky winners from the Duck Race came along to the club meeting on 11 June to collect their prizes. John Kilby and George Morrison with at rear, Kenny Ross, Jeanette Leonard (granny of young winner Iona MacDonald), Isobel Miller and Mike Roberts.

Well over £5,000 was raised from the Duck Race, Crepe Stall and Bouncy Castle. The money will go to Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS), ChildLine and other Rotary good causes. The day had been a great success and convenor John Kilby thanked all members and helpers for their hard work.
