Last Thursday's meeting took place at the Dunblane Centre where we were hosted by the Centre trustees Howard Barr, Stuart Prodger and Martyn Dunn and manager, Gemma Greer.
Members enjoyed a splendid meal provided by Tilly Tearoom staff before Howard Barr gave an update on the work of the Centre. This year is the 10th year the Centre has been in operation and Howard outlined the projects and events which were planned for the year, including a Garden project, a Vintage Fair and a Fun Day Sunday. There are plans to refurbish some of the key areas of the Centre and install a 'Tree of Life' sculpture which will be carved from a single piece of wood.
A book and film are also planned and a major fundraising dinner will be held in November at the Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro where the trustees hope to raise £20k to help with the running costs of the Centre.
Arthur Law thanked the Centre staff and trustees for a most enjoyable evening and an excellent meal before members were taken on a tour of the facilities.
