The second Grand Christmas Charity Concert, this year in aid of Strathcarron Hospice, was held in Dunblane Cathedral on Saturday 8 December.
Organised by the Dunblane Cathedral Arts Guild in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Bridge of Allan and Dunblane, guests were welcomed by Jason, Charlie, Rebecca,Cara and Robina, pupils from in Dunblane and members of the new Interact Club, who assisted with ticket collection and programme distribution.
After guests were seated, QV Pipers Thomas King and Cameron Adam opened proceedings from the gallery before the stunning sound of the Whitburn Band filled the building.
Introduced by Rotary club member Claire Reid, the award winning band entertained a packed house with a selection of traditional and seasonal music.
The Rosenethe Signers with Musical Director Matthew Beetschen then gave the first of two sessions of songs.
During a brief interval, the QV youngsters were again on hand to distribute sweets kindly supplied by M&S Simply Food and Tesco Metro, Dunblane. Further sessions by the Rosenethe Singers and the Whitburn Band, including some audience participation, culminated in a finale which was an unrehearsed but excellent joint performance by the band and the singers and brought a very memorable evening to a close.
With money still coming in, the total so far for Strathcarron is approaching £2500.
