15 December 2011 Business Meeting and SGM

35 members enjoyed their Christmas meal at the Westlands Hotel last Thursday. President Rod Jones presented Eve with a cheque for the staff to thank them for all their work during the year.

The first item was a business meeting where members were updated on ongoing matters. The Club is actively supporting the Doune and Dunblane Fling committee who are organising next year's event. A Partners Evening and Christmas Lunch had been organised, both of which had been well supported. Bill Sharpe advised that the Christmas Concert to be held on Saturday at Dunblane Cathedral was a sell out. 

Attention then turned to the Special General Meeting where the members approved the items on the Agenda, including adoption of the audited accounts for 2010-11. Next year's office bearers, who will take up their posts on 1 July, were elected as follows:

President - Iain Smith.

Senior Vice President - Colin Strachan.

Junior Vice President - Peter Farr.

Treasurer - Russell Wheater.

Assistant Treasurer - John Anderson.

Secretary - Iain Fraser.

Assistant Secretary - Mary Fraser. 

As this was the last meeting until 5 January 2012, president Rod wished all members a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
