REVERSE ADVENT BOX SCHEME

Our Advent Box scheme kicked off this morning at a drop off point in the Phoenix Club car park with
President David Hogg and Rotarians present to take donations. Even Santa came along to help out.
 
There was a huge response to our call to action resulting in more than 80 donated food boxes and bags. After loading up cars and vans, volunteers left to deliver the goods and we have already received a heartfelt thanks from one of our foodbanks.  
 
This initiative was first suggested by Rotarian Pat Pickersgill 3 years ago and President David Hogg commented, 'the Advent Box scheme has been hugely successful from the start and, as ever, we would like to thank our supportive community who never let us down when we need their help. Rotakids meet first time in 18 months

At last, Rotary Newton Aycliffe’s very own group of Rotakids have been able to meet and discuss their plans for the future

During 2022, with the help of our County Councillors and funding from the Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership - GAMP, Rotary Newton Aycliffe bought a trailer, and it was a natural progression to then make the decision to have a new Santa Sleigh.

A couple of months ago, Bernard Borsberry visited Rotary Newton Aycliffe to speak about his recent trip away and how he became interested in supporting youth football in a distant land.
