King’s New Years Honours

Congratulations to four of our District Rotarians who have been recognised


Four of our District Rotarians have been recognised in the King’s New Years Honours.

Moyra Hendry - "Primary Advisor, Moray Council Education Department, formerly Head Teacher Cullen Primary School. For services to Education."  (RC Elgin - previously RC Buckie

Major Alisdair Miller -  "Volunteer. For services to SAFFA (the Armed Forces charity, also known as the Soldiers', Sailors', and Airmen's Families Association) and the community in Sutherland." (RC East Sutherland)

Alistair Risk "Volunteer. For services to Charity." (RC East Sutherland)

Dr. Hamish Tait - “for services to public access defibrillators through the work he continues to do as chair of Operation Heart Start.” (RC St. Andrews)

Congratulations to all of our District Rotarians on being recognised in the Kings New Year's Honours List.  It is a remarkable achievement and a great honour.  We’re sure all members of District 1010 will be very proud of you all for the magnificent work you have done to achieve these awards..

At this time these are the only District Rotarians we are aware of being honoured but please let us know if we have missed anyone so we can add them to our page.

Five voluntary organisations within Westhill partnered together, with support from the Aberdeenshire Community Planning Partnership, to identify and engage with members of the community over 80 years old,

As in 2015, 2016 sees Westhill Rotarians putting their green fingers to good use. As well as looking after their own green patches the club members will be taken over responsibility for the hanging basket displays around the town.
