Providing a warm welcome this winter


Rotary GB&I is delighted be the Volunteer Partner for Warm Welcome Spaces, having been involved since the launch in 2023.

Warm Welcome Spaces exists to turn poverty and isolation into warmth and connection through the power of local spaces made by and for the community.

Thousands of Warm Welcome Spaces exist across the country, with many opening their doors with extended services during the winter months from October to March. Spaces offer everyone a friendly place to keep warm, connect and make new friends.

In the 2024/25 winter Warm Welcome, there were over 2.6 million visits to the 5,000+ Warm Welcome Spaces across the country.

Rotary’s dedicated members regularly volunteer their time and talents to their local communities so they can tackle today’s needs and strengthen society for tomorrow’s challenges. This campaign aligns with the Rotary GB&I unifying theme of ‘Health and Wellbeing’ and the many service projects Rotary clubs are already doing in this area.

Five voluntary organisations within Westhill partnered together, with support from the Aberdeenshire Community Planning Partnership, to identify and engage with members of the community over 80 years old,

As in 2015, 2016 sees Westhill Rotarians putting their green fingers to good use. As well as looking after their own green patches the club members will be taken over responsibility for the hanging basket displays around the town.
