Working with schools to promote Peace & Conflict Resolution.

One of Rotary's key areas of focus is Peace and Conflict Resolution

All schools cover Peace and Conflict Resolution as part of their curriculum and Rotary Clubs can support and work with schools and youth groups to develop this further, as it's so needed in today’s world. There is opportunity, capability and need for Peace Advocacy at every level of education.

The Rotary Peace Advocate training is run by experts in the field and promotes the advancement of conflict resolution through the establishment of a specific philosophies that enable young people and adults to become “Peace Advocates”. This is achieved by training and accrediting facilitators who in turn create and organize “Peace and Conflict Resolution” groups in schools and communities.

The Rotary Peace Advocate training initiates the advancement of citizenship by liaising and building local and global networks to promote a culture of peace and understanding and also by enabling the established groups to identify problems in their community that can be tackled by using their conflict resolution skills.

It also encapsulates the advancement of health by promoting knowledge and understanding of the impact of mental health on behaviours whilst offering skills that allow young people to take control of their mental health problems, thereby empowering them to improve their own health and that of others.
