Ross Sea Exploration

Mon, Aug 24th 2026 at 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Based on his own Antarctica journey, Dave Pinion will talk about, visiting the expedition huts of Scott and Shackleton on Ross Island, the McMurdo dry valleys, the Ross Ice Shelf, the Antarctic Peninsula and Deception Island.

Dave Pinion is a retired communications engineer. In 2023 he visited Antarctica, caught the polar bug, and have since returned four times and counting... His talks are based on his own experiences and the heroic age of exploration (Scott, Shackleton etc.), backed up with some great photos, a few anecdotes, and a passion for the continent, and lots of penguins!!
