With the aim of discovering more about local businesses in the area, nine Rotarians and guests visited the Timpsons ‘pod’ in Sainbsbury's car park, Lower Richmond Road, Richmond, on 5th. April. Manager Andrew gave a fascinating introduction about Timpsons, who have 2000 stores, and 2 rules: ‘Look the part’ and ‘Put the money in the till.’ We enjoyed a demo. about photography, key cutting, engraving and watch repairs and Andrew explained about all the other services that Timpsons provide - dry cleaning, batteries, car keys, shoe repairs, memorials and signs, amongst others. Afterwards, at the Garden Fish Bar at 285 Sandycombe Road, Kew, organiser Richard Ward thanked Andrew for giving up his evening and providing such an interesting insight into his work.
