Paul Harris Fellow recognition

At our special meeting on 12th November we recognised two local people as "Paul Harris Fellows" for their work in supporting the local community.

The Rotary Foundation is Rotary’s own charity which then distributes the funds on various good causes ranging from Polio eradication , sanitation and disaster aid. Paul Harris was the founder of Rotary back in 1905 and clubs can recognise both Rotarians and non Rotarians as “Paul Harris Fellows” for outstanding service in the community , club or elsewhere. The awards were presented by District Governor Edwin Partridge and our President Kevin Spiller. The well attended evening was organised by our Rotary Foundation Charman , Najib Yousif.

Jeff Bradley

FRESH. “Food Ready Every School Holiday”.
Jeff runs this charity single handed, starting in  2019 serving two schools, building to 12 schools in the pandemic serving 2000 families a week.
Today Jeff supports four schools and delivers 200 kilos of fresh and canned food, including meat, fruit and veg, and store cupboard goods every day.
Rotary Stockport Lamplighter are proud to be able to help Jeff when required and Jeff is always grateful for any financial help to ensure the great work from FRESH can continue.

Bernard Kivel

Bernard recently won One Stockport’s volunteer of the year award due to his dedication to the Heaton Norris Community Centre . Bernard got involved in community support some 20 years ago and has worked ceaselessly with a team of dedicated fellow volunteers.

The centre was transformed from a derelict building and supports local groups from toddlers to the aged.
