New Paul Harris Fellow - Mrs Sandra Bhargava

On 20th November 2024 Sandra was recognised by the club as a Paul Harris Fellow in recognition of her long term support for the India Eye Camp project.

Sandra's late husband Satish was a founder member of the club back in 1984 and was an eye surgeon in Manchester. He started a project to support eye camps in India which give eye health care to the less well off . This may simply involve the provision of spectacles are even a cataract operation.

The club makes financial donations evey year to this project and these are matched by a personal donation from Sandra.

The award was presented by District Governor Jean Billingsley and President Bernadette.

Sandra was accompanied by her daughter Sarah .

We were delighted that five founder members, Alan, David, Neil , Philip and Satish were able to be with us for the event.

Prior to the Paul Harris presentation we had a very interesting talk from Jean Billinsley about a Rotary Exchange project in the Caribbean she led in 2013.

(Many thanks to Amy and Carol for the photos)
