Last Saturday, 2nd August, Brampton & Longtown Rotarian Don Jary and his wife Alison, successfully completed the 13 mile "Trek 26" Alzheimers Society sponsored walk along the Suffolk Coast and thereby raised £1200 for this cause. Both Don and Alison (picture attached) thank the many people who kindly sponsored them - which included a number of Rotarians. "It was very rewarding to be able to participate in this event and complete it on behalf of the Society and the many people who are suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia - including members of our family. We hope that our small contribution will help research and treatment in the future", said Don.
It is believed that the event, one of a number around the country, was expected to raise at least £550,000 in total.
