National Rotary Kids Out Day

Rotary Kids Out Day, held each June, is supported by Rotary Clubs throughout the country
The purpose of Rotary KIds Out Day is to provide a day of fun for disadvantaged children whose lives are frequently blighted by their disablement. They lack the opportunity to join other children in playing games and going on fairground rides and experiencing other pleasures which normal healthy kids enjoy.
Our club has supported this event for many years. We sponsor the cost of the day out and Rotarians accompany the children, parents/carers/teachers to ensure that they are kept safe the whole time.
The day is spent at Chessington World of Adventure. We take pupils from the Palatine School in Worthing which caters for pupils with moderate, severe or profound learning needs. Many of these children have associated sensory, motor and communication difficulties including autism.
We know from first hand what a difference this day-out makes to the kids who have a thoroughly good time and are excited by all that takes place. The adults have a very good time too! We consider that this is a day well spent.

The Three Forts Marathon is the special one as it is approx 27.2 miles and covers rough terrain and steep climbs. The proceeds go to a local charity.
