October Saturdays in Wickford
Most Saturdays during October members of the Rotary Club have been reminding shoppers in the town that Firework Night will soon be with us. The 28th October was the day chosen to adopt the 'hard sell' approach.
Programmes moved slowly but then they always do prior to the event. Saturday the 4th November will be the big day. There is a fire to be built and programmes to be sold. The residents of the town never let us down, they turn up in their thousands to see the best display around and help us boost our charity work. Tin Lizzie has been out with us most Saturdays, in fact she has helped us raise thousands of pounds acting as an attention grabber. Mick's Model T does her bit and we are indebted to Mick for bringing her down.
