The 4th July saw our Jazz Evening take place at Hyde Hall gardens for the ninth consecutive year. We traditionally have between 400 and 600 people go through the tills and this year was no exception as we had 501 people in the grounds.
It was a fabulous evening with very kind weather, coupled with a new jazz band due to The Downhome band leader’s tragic loss of life shortly after last year’s event.
The Sunshine Kings are a top London band and we were privileged to have them at our event, their professionalism showed throughout the evening.
The raffle, again run by our own Jackie Snape was a great success this alone took over £1100. Chris Bushell was also well pleased with the raffle as his delivery of the winning tickets to Lee Baxter had made him half a stone lighter!!
After all expenses were accounted for we will be sending St. Lukes Hospice a very tidy sum of £5875.
