"CRUNCH-CRUNCH" went the snow as my heavy black boots pounded
against the ground. The winter sky was pitch black like coal and the
moon shone a silver glow down to earth. I pulled my hood up over my
face and gritted my teeth as the cold air pierced my skin. My fingers were numb as ice as I shoved them into my pockets. Walking home in this kind of weather was a nightmare.
I turned right down a thin windy path with thorny bushes running along either side. Good, nearly home. Dark clouds hung in the sky and began to close in on me. Birds called from the woods and wolves howled in raspy voices.
Suddenly, I heard a sharp snap of a twig being broken. .. by a foot. My head whipped around quickly but no one was there. Silly me, I thought and continued walking.
I was halfway down the path when I heard it. Quick, pacing footsteps
behind me, slowly creeping closer. My neck flicked around once more
and, sure enough, no one was there. This was getting scary now, and my heart raced in fear. Inside I tried to calm myself down,
