Ingatestone Summer Show

Twenty-six years ago, a Rotary Club in Helston-Lizard in Cornwall, England, had a vision to establish an international disaster relief organisation that provided the essential tools so people could receive basic aid and help, to rebuild their villages, towns and lives after a disaster.
 

Today, ShelterBox has evolved into its own disaster-aid-focused charity and has several strategically located staging areas worldwide, so that its Emergency Response Teams can arrive anywhere in the world with Shelter Boxes and items (contents can vary depending on the nature of the natural disaster) within days.

Emergency Response Teams are not always welcomed by countries affected by disaster. This is when being a Rotarian changes the conversation with governments and leaders. Often, it is the local Rotary Clubs in the disaster-affected country that use their local knowledge and connections to clear the way for ShelterBox to assist. It is quite often Rotary’s global reputation that governments and people know and respect.

Shelter Box and many Rotary Clubs located all over the world have helped 1.5 million people in 97 countries rebuild after a disaster.

At this year's INGATESTONE SUMMER SHOW, which takes place today Saturday, the 18^th of July 2026, we will erect our Rotary Gazebo and display the different aid items and contents, marketing leaflets and information that are associated with Shelter Box.

Simultaneously, we will also appeal for donations to the most recent Earthquake Disaster in Venezuela, hopefully raising enough to contribute a ShelterBox with the appropriate items to this disaster-stricken region.
