The competition took place at Helena Romanes School, Great Dunmow, on Sunday 16th November 2026.
Our young musicians’ performance standards were once again excellent. They performed a diverse range of music including from Schubert, Franz Liszt, Crowded House and Ozzy Osbourne.
The judges faced a challenging task given the high standard, but ultimately awarded Harry first place overall for vocals and Isaac first place overall for instrumental. Both will now advance to the District 1240 stage of the competition being held in Brentwood Cathedral on 28th February 2026.
The Rotary Club of Dunmow also organised a local Young Composer competition. Tien and Theo shared joint first place.
Very well done to all our young musicians.
We’re grateful to our judges Philip Sunderland and James Cairns, and Helena Romanes School for allowing us to run the competition at the school.
