Recent donations to local organisations from the Collinson Legacy Fund

Donations to local organisations

The Rotary Club of Dunmow have been pleased to recently make three donations to local organisations through their Collinson Legacy Fund, a legacy fund made available to support our community within a 10 mile radius of Great Dunmow.

A donation was made available to Felsted Primary School to build a secure outside area, attached to the classroom for the Year 1 pupils.  The area allows the pupils to move freely and securely between the inside and outside learning area.  The class teacher Carry Campbell is pictured with the School Business Manager, Michele Layzells and three of the current children in the outdoor learning area.

At the recent launch of the new Great Dunmow Youth Band, catering for young people aged seven to eighteen, Dunmow Rotarian David Beedle presented a cheque to the Bands Director of Music James Cairns, to help establish the Youth Band.  They are both pictured with the Town Band chair Lucy Myers and treasurer Gerry Bassingthwaighte.

A donation was also made to the 1st Dunmow Scout Group to enhance the security of the group’s site. A cheque was presented to Jackie & Rodney Martin of the 1st Dunmow Scout Group by Dunmow Rotarian Lois Sparkes.  It was a fitting occasion as the 1st Dunmow Scout Group were celebrating their 100th anniversary.
