Young Musician Competition

Young Musician 2024/25. This competition is open to anyone from 5*-17 years old. This year’s competition will also include a local Young Composer section.  The date of the initial local competition is Saturday 9th November 2024 and will be held in Helena Romanes School.  The closing date for entries is the 18th October 2024.

All entrants must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or teacher for the duration of the event.

* The competition for those below 7 years of age is at a local level only.

The competition will be divided into three sessions with both instrumental and vocal performances within the same group. The preliminary timings for each session are as detailed below, however, all entrants will be advised of the actual timing of their session before the event, as the number of entrants entered in each session will determine the actual timing.

Registration will be from 8:30am.

Session 1: Foundation entrants (Grades 1 - 3) - 9am - 10:30am

Session 2: Intermediate entrants (Grades 4 - 5) - 11am - 1pm

Session 3: Advanced entrants (Grades 6 - 8) - 2pm - 4pm

Final results 4:30pm - 5pm

Entrants into the Young Composer competition are required to submit a 2 minute composition as an MP3 file, along with their score in notation or graphic format. (Entries are required by the 18th October 2024 and to be sent via email to dunmow.rotary@gmail.com.   The composition can be for any instrument and of any genre.
