Rotary Club of Dunmow held their annual Sports Personality Dinner last Friday, with guest speaker Graham Gooch OBE, ex England and Essex Cricket Captain. Graham gave a great insight into his career as a cricketer, especially as a member and captain of the England cricket team on tour.
The evening included a four course dinner, auction of two pieces of cricketing memorabilia and a raffle, with proceeds in aid of SportsAid UK and Dunmow Rotary charities.
This event has supported SportsAid for many years, through which SportsAid UK have supported many athletes, including local athletes, Beth Shriever, the Olympic Gold Medalist in the Tokyo BMX event, and William Gilbank an up and coming Track & Road cyclist.
Rotary Club of Dunmow President, Peter Watson is pictured with Graham Gooch, Great Dunmow Town Mayor, Cllr Alex Armstrong and Chris Dyer of SportsAid UK.
