On Thursday (23/3/23) Dunmow Rotarians were joined by Chrissie and Claire from the Buffy PlayBus. The club was given an excellent insight into the great work of the Buffy Playbus team, who provide an educational play area for young children and a meeting point for their parents.
The double decker bus travels around the local area, visiting Thaxted, Felsted, Saffron Walden, Stansted, Dunmow, Little Canfield, Birchanger, Barnston, Carver Barracks, Takeley and Newport. The bus is staffed by four Playleaders, including Claire and is supported by trustees such as Chrissie and Project Manager Rosie.
In the past there has been a charge for visiting the bus, but due to the recent high cost of living the team decided to make the facility free to visit, which has increased the need to raise more money in order to maintain the service. Dunmow President, Colin Bradley is pictured presenting a cheque donation to Chrissie & Claire for the Buffy PlayBus.
More detail about the Buffy PlayBus can be found on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/buffyplaybus/?locale=en_GB
