Six very talented Young Musicians, from this year’s Dunmow Rotary Young Musician competition, took to the stage at St Mary’s Church to provide a very entertaining concert. The event was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Dunmow, Patrick and Alison Lavelle, and Peter Dowse, Rotary District Youth Chairman, plus friends, families and Rotarians.
It was a very enjoyable afternoon of varied live music of excellent quality. Thanks to the musicians and to Andy King, Director of the Dunmow Town Band, along with the chief adjudicator Louise Chappell for all their work in arranging the competition and the concert.
The competition attracted 16 entries altogether and our overall winner was Nell Ramdenee who went on to win the Essex Young Musician award in the Under 19s competition. The concert was compered by Willie Fraser, immediate past President of the Rotary Club of Dunmow, and Andy King.
