"50 years a volunteer from steam engines to wildlife"
This week’s meeting of the Rotary Club of Dunmow included an inspiring talk by Brian Pearce MBE FRSA, who is also a Paul Harris Fellow, on “A volunteer from steam engines to wildlife”. Brian described how his love of steam engines saw him getting involved in the development of a Wildlife Haven alongside the Nene Valley Railway in Peterborough. The site, developed on an old coal storage area, was constructed through the efforts of volunteers, like him, over many years, along with the generosity of various organisations, including the Rotary organisation.
