Willie Fraser, President of the Rotary Club of Dunmow, presented a cheque for £1,000 to Clare Griffiths, Head Teacher of Dunmow St Mary’s Primary School, for the purchase of computer equipment to assist families who need help with computer access for their children.
During the COVID crisis Dunmow Rotary members have been meeting on ZOOM, instead of meeting weekly for a meal. The money they would have spent on the meals has been put into a charity fund to support local people and organisations, such as St Mary’s Primary school, during these difficult times.
As well as the donation to St Mary’s Primary School, Dunmow Rotarians have also used this fund to give £2,500 to the Uttlesford Food Bank and supply PPE to two local Care Homes. In addition last week it was agreed to also support our local Scouts and Guides.
